About Steven Paul
Steven Paul Minks built his path to law from an early interest in criminal justice. He earned a B.S. in criminal justice from the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith (2010) and completed his J.D. at Mississippi College School of Law in 2011. Those academic steps set the stage for a career centered in Oklahoma, where he is admitted to practice.
After law school, Minks turned his classroom studies into courtroom work. He is admitted to the Oklahoma bar and has combined courtroom practice with continuing involvement in professional groups. Over the years he has joined organizations that intersect with both criminal defense and trial practice. That mix of memberships reflects the kinds of matters he handles and the professional networks he maintains.
Minks holds memberships in several legal and tactical organizations. He is a member of the American Association for Justice (since 2017) and the Oklahoma Association for Justice (since 2016). He belongs to the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, a group he joined in 2014, and has been part of the USCCA Critical Response Team since 2017. In 2016 he received a Top 10 Under 40 recognition from the National Academy of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
His association activity includes both local and national groups. That activity keeps him connected to changes in criminal law and trial practice. He also takes part in training and response work through the USCCA Critical Response Team, a role that involves preparing for high-pressure situations outside of routine court work.
Colleagues describe Minks as practical and direct. He tends to favor clear preparation over theatrical courtroom tactics. His practice history contains a steady pattern of criminal defense and related litigation work, reflected in his association choices and the award he received in 2016. He has focused on developing the skills that matter in contested hearings and jury trials rather than on broad public profiles or frequent media appearances.
Minks maintains an office at 404 Dewey Ave and continues to practice in Oklahoma. He concentrates his practice on criminal defense and litigation connected to that work.
