About Steven P.
Steven P. Gregory studied literature and science before he turned to the law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Biology from the University of Alabama in 1975, then completed a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at the same campus in 1982. Nearly a decade later he returned to the university for a law degree, receiving his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1991. Those successive degrees trace a path from the humanities and sciences to legal training.
That varied academic background informs how he approaches legal work. Early training in creative writing sharpened his drafting and analytical skills. Study in biology gave him a practical vocabulary for technical topics that sometimes surface in legal matters. After law school he established his practice in Alabama and maintained membership in the Alabama State Bar.
