About Steven
Steven Madoff built a foundation in both the arts and the law. He earned a B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo, followed by an M.S. in Television-Radio-Film from Syracuse University. He then moved into legal studies, receiving a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and completing an LL.M. in Trade Regulation at New York University School of Law. Those degrees mark a blend of creative industry training and specialized legal study.
Early in his professional life he took a role inside the entertainment industry. In 1987 he served as Executive Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs at Paramount Pictures. That position placed him at the intersection of commercial decision-making and legal oversight in a major studio environment. The responsibilities implied by that title include negotiating agreements, addressing regulatory concerns and advising on business transactions tied to media production and distribution.
Madoff is admitted to practice in both California and New York. He lists 1987 as his bar admission year and maintains an active license. He has been a member of the New York State Bar since 1979. Those credentials reflect a long-standing engagement with the legal profession across more than one jurisdiction.
He now serves Of Counsel at Bona Law PC. In that role he brings together years of legal work and industry experience. His education in television and film and his advanced study in trade regulation inform his approach to legal issues that arise in commercial and media settings. At Bona Law PC he advises on business and legal matters, drawing on his background in studio business affairs and regulatory law. He remains active in practice and concentrates his current work on business and legal affairs in the entertainment industry and on issues involving trade regulation.
