About Steven Kevin
Steven Kevin Budke earned his Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in 2014. He completed his legal education there after studying law in the early 2010s. The classroom work and clinical experiences at William Mitchell provided the foundation for a practice that now spans both trial and appellate matters.
After law school, Budke built a practice anchored in Minnesota. He is admitted to practice in Minnesota and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Those admissions shape the kinds of matters he takes and the forums where he appears. He has handled filings at the trial level in state court and has undertaken appellate work in federal court.
Budke joined Leverson Budke, PLLP, where he practices alongside other attorneys and staff. At the firm he works on cases that require attention to procedural detail and careful written advocacy. His work often involves preparing briefs, managing discovery, and representing clients at hearings. He combines written advocacy with courtroom appearance where appropriate.
He maintains current memberships in professional associations. Those memberships keep him connected to developments in case law and procedural rules. He also uses those networks to consult with colleagues on complex questions and to stay current on changes in appellate practice within the Eighth Circuit.
Colleagues describe Budke as methodical and concise in his written work. He prefers clear orders of argument and arguments supported by precedent. That approach shapes how he prepares cases for both trial and appeal. He tends to emphasize clarity in filings and thoroughness in record development.
Outside the courtroom, Budke has continued to refine his litigation skills through practice and ongoing professional engagement. He has worked on cases that require coordination across multiple levels of the justice system, and he pays attention to procedural strategy that can affect case outcomes. He currently practices at Leverson Budke, PLLP, handling matters in Minnesota and cases before the Eighth Circuit.
