About Steven J

Steven J Grace grew up reading philosophy and literature. Those interests steered him into an undergraduate double major in English and philosophy at Western Michigan University, where he graduated in 2001. He went on to earn his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2004. The route from classroom to courtroom was steady and academic; his legal training anchored the practical work that followed.

After law school he built a practice in Illinois. He is admitted to practice in the state and also holds admission to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Over time he established a presence in several suburban locations, operating out of offices listed under StevenGraceLaw. The firm maintains addresses in Oak Brook, Deerfield, Burr Ridge and Northbrook, allowing him to serve clients across the Chicago suburbs.

His work spans matters that arise in both state and federal settings. That has meant appearing before trial courts and handling filings at the appellate level in the Seventh Circuit. He has represented individuals and businesses, managing procedural demands and courtroom obligations that come with litigation and appellate practice. He prepares briefs and motions and argues before judges when cases require it.

Colleagues describe him as deliberate in preparation and direct in court. He prefers clear written advocacy and practical planning. In depositions and hearings he aims to keep questions focused and trial strategy straightforward. Outside the courtroom he spends time reviewing case law and refining legal arguments. That methodical approach is evident in the way his offices organize client matters across multiple suburban locations.

StevenGraceLaw evolved as a way to offer local access to legal services outside downtown Chicago. The multiple offices reflect an effort to meet clients where they live and work. Staff at each location handle intake and scheduling while he concentrates on substantive legal work. He balances court appearances with client meetings and written advocacy.

He remains active in matters that come before Illinois courts and the Seventh Circuit. His practice concentrates on matters brought in those jurisdictions. He maintains offices in Oak Brook, Deerfield, Burr Ridge and Northbrook and continues to represent clients across those communities, focusing his current practice on cases in Illinois and appeals before the Seventh Circuit.
