About Steven
Steven Houde built his legal foundation in Massachusetts. He earned a B.A. in history and political science from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in 1987. He went on to Suffolk University Law School and completed his J.D. in 1990. Those formative years set the stage for a steady career in private practice.
Houde began working in the legal field while still a student, serving as a legal assistant at the Law Office of Anthony V. Quercia in 1987. After law school he joined the Law Offices of Kelley and Trehub in 1990 as an attorney. He stayed with that office through a period of growth and change and later became a partner when the practice reorganized as the Law Offices of Trehub and Houde in 2012. Two years after that, he established his own firm, the Law Offices of Steven M. Houde, PC, where he serves as owner and lawyer.
His professional memberships reflect long-term ties to the state bar and to trial practice circles. He has been a member of the Massachusetts State Bar since 1990 and joined the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers in 2000. Those affiliations place him in the same professional networks that many Massachusetts litigators and trial practitioners use to stay current on court procedures and local developments.
Over more than three decades in practice, Houde has moved through several roles: legal assistant, associate, partner, and firm owner. That progression allowed him to experience different office structures and client needs. He handled matters in private practice settings and navigated the administrative and managerial responsibilities that come with partnership and firm ownership. His career shows a continuity: steady work inside Massachusetts courts and law offices, and a preference for maintaining a local practice rather than moving into large regional or national platforms.
Today he operates his own practice in Massachusetts. He continues to practice under the Law Offices of Steven M. Houde, PC, serving clients out of that firm and maintaining active membership in the state bar. He currently practices from the Law Offices of Steven M. Houde, PC, representing clients across Massachusetts.
