About Steven

Steven Ekechuku trained in government and law before he entered practice. He earned a B.A. in Government from Georgetown University in 2006 and completed his J.D. at Fordham University School of Law in 2010. While in law school he spent time in a federal courtroom clerkship, working for the Honorable Ronald Ellis in the Southern District of New York in 2009, an experience that exposed him to complex civil litigation and courtroom procedure.

After law school, Ekechuku joined Baker Hostetler in 2011, where he worked as a lawyer on matters handled by the firm. He moved to Silverberg Zalantis LLC the following year and continued in private practice. In 2013 he took a role as a consultant at Transperfect. That stint gave him a view of corporate operations and cross-border document work outside the traditional law firm setting. In 2016 he served as a director at H5, a position that broadened his exposure to business and organizational leadership.

In 2019 he launched Ekechuku Law PLLC. The decision to open his own practice followed nearly a decade of mixed experience at firms, in-house and in consultancy roles. He has handled matters that draw on that varied background, moving between client counseling, document work and dispute resolution. The earlier clerkship continued to inform his courtroom work and his approach to case preparation.

Colleagues describe Ekechuku as steady and methodical. He favors clear planning and plain communication. Court filings and client letters are prepared with an eye for detail. He balances that careful approach with the pragmatic needs of businesses and individuals who want straightforward answers and efficient handling of legal tasks. That combination reflects the arc of his career: academic study of government, courtroom exposure, and practice across different professional environments.

Ekechuku continues to run Ekechuku Law PLLC. He maintains a private practice that serves individual and business clients and draws on the range of experiences gathered at law firms, in consulting roles and during his federal clerkship. His current practice focuses on providing legal counsel to individuals and businesses.
