About Steven E.

Steven E. Goldberg earned a B.S. in Telecommunication from the University of Florida in 1987 and a J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1993. His academic background combined technical and legal training, and he took the path into practice in South Carolina after law school.

He began his legal career at the Steinberg Law Office in 1993 and has been listed there as a partner and lawyer. Over the years he has taken on roles beyond day-to-day practice. He served on the Board of Governors and as Workers Compensation Chair for the South Carolina Association for Justice in 2006. In 2012 he was Chairperson of the Workers Compensation Section on the Board of Trustees for the South Carolina Bar Association. He also held a membership-at-large designation with the American Bar Association in 2008. He sits on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Injured Workers Advocates and maintains memberships in the South Carolina Injured Workers’ Advocates and the American Association for Justice.

Goldberg’s career shows a steady focus on workers’ compensation and injured-worker advocacy. Those leadership roles in state legal organizations placed him in the middle of debates about practice standards, hearings and legislative changes affecting injured workers. He has participated in boards and committees that set policy and educational programming for attorneys who represent workers in claims and appeals.

In practice, Goldberg handles matters arising under South Carolina’s workers’ compensation system. He represents clients at administrative hearings and in related litigation. His courtroom and administrative experience has been shaped by decades of handling claims, preparing expert testimony and arguing before administrative bodies. Colleagues and organizations have repeatedly turned to him for leadership on procedures and professional education connected to workers’ compensation law.

Goldberg operates out of multiple offices in the Charleston region, including locations in Charleston, Summerville and Goose Creek. He is licensed to practice in South Carolina and has structured his work around representing injured workers across the state. His current practice concentrates on workers’ compensation and related matters for injured workers.
