Kommor began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure, he conducted numerous trials and argued cases before the New York State Appellate Division. His work in the Domestic Violence Unit involved handling sensitive family offense cases, further deepening his understanding of family law. Following his time as a prosecutor, he transitioned into private practice, where he focused on criminal law, matrimonial law, family law, appellate advocacy, and trial advocacy. Throughout his career, Mr. Kommor has managed complex matrimonial cases that involve child custody, support, equitable distribution, and asset evaluation. He has also served as a trial advisor and counsel for various prestigious law firms, enhancing his expertise in litigation. In 2024, he represented the plaintiff in the case D.N.
v. T.N., which was decided on May 8, 2024, in the Supreme Court, Nassau County. Additionally, Mr. Kommor has shared his knowledge by lecturing for the Nassau County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
