About Steven D.
Steven D. Jaeger has built a practice that reaches beyond a single courthouse. He appears in state and federal forums across a broad geographic span, including the U.S. Supreme Court and every federal circuit court. That range shapes the way he approaches cases and counsel.
Jaeger earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from Thomas More College in 2003. He then completed his legal studies at Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, receiving his J.D. in 2007. Those academic years laid the groundwork for a litigation-oriented career and a steady involvement in appellate work.
Soon after law school, Jaeger moved into practice that mixed trial and appellate matters. In 2010 he founded The Jaeger Firm, PLLC and took on the role of managing lawyer. He has maintained that practice since, overseeing files and guiding the firm’s litigation strategy. He also holds memberships in professional associations and bar groups.
Jaeger’s admissions reflect an emphasis on litigation in a national circuit system. He is admitted to practice in Ohio and Kentucky, and he is also admitted before the U.S. Supreme Court. On the federal side, his credentials extend to the 1st through 11th Circuit Courts of Appeal, giving him the ability to carry appeals across the country.
That pattern of admissions points to an appellate-heavy practice. Jaeger regularly handles appeals and files briefs in federal appellate courts, while also litigating at the trial level in state courts. He works on procedural and substantive issues that arise on appeal and on the trial strategy that feeds into later appellate work. Colleagues describe his courtroom approach as methodical and focused on legal clarity.
As founder and managing attorney of The Jaeger Firm, PLLC, he balances casework with firm administration. He oversees client matters, directs litigation teams, and manages the firm’s day-to-day operations. The practice has handled matters across multiple jurisdictions and federal appellate panels.
Outside the courtroom he maintains involvement in bar-related activities and professional groups. He keeps a practice that spans trial and appellate matters and that regularly engages federal circuit courts. His current practice concentrates on appellate litigation and on trial-level representation in Ohio and Kentucky.
