Steven Ames Simons is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1987. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Simons is the principal attorney at the Law Office of Steven A. Simons, located at 9010 Corbin Ave, Suite 17B, Northridge, CA 91324. He has been practicing law for over 38 years, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles area and surrounding counties in Southern California.
Mr. Simons earned his Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law, where he graduated in 1987. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at California State University at Northridge, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1984. He also obtained an Associate of Arts degree from San Fernando Mission College in 1979. During his time at Southwestern University, he was actively involved in various legal clinics and internships, gaining practical experience in multiple areas of law.
Mr. Simons concentrates his practice in the areas of consumer law, including automobile fraud, lemon law, finance fraud, bankruptcy, wills and trusts, personal injury, and premises liability. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving defective vehicles, financial disputes, estate planning, and personal injury claims. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Simons has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years. He is also admitted to practice in Arizona, having been admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 2014.
Mr. Simons is an active member of the San Fernando Valley Bar Association and the State Bar of California. He has served as a mediator on the Los Angeles Superior Court Mediation Panel, assisting in resolving disputes outside of traditional court proceedings. Additionally, he is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served as a Petty Officer Third Class from 1974 to 1976. Mr. Simons is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Southern California effectively.
