About Steven A.
Steven A. Lopez began his professional path in journalism. He earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999. Several years later he turned to law and received his J.D. from Baylor Law School in 2012.
After law school he built his practice in Texas. Over time he took on roles in local bar organizations. In 2017 he served as Secretary of the Mexican American Bar Association of San Antonio. The following year he was Vice President for Public Affairs for the San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association. Those positions placed him squarely in the network of litigators, local practitioners and public-affairs advocates who meet and argue issues in and out of court.
Colleagues describe him as a lawyer who pays attention to detail and to process. His training in journalism informs how he prepares a matter: he looks for the story that connects documents, testimony and statute. That discipline feeds into litigation work and public-facing bar activities. He has been active in association leadership and in the civic conversations that shape local practice.
Lopez’s experience in bar organizations gave him a steady platform to interact with judges, fellow lawyers and community groups. He handled administrative responsibilities in those roles. He also represented organizational interests in public settings and internal governance. Those experiences helped him develop practical skills in managing cases and coordinating with clients and co-counsel.
Today he practices at Hill Law Office in Texas. His work reflects his background in both courtroom settings and public-affairs roles. He handles litigation matters and represents clients in trial and pretrial proceedings in the state of Texas.
