About Steven A.
Steven A. Goldstein graduated from Temple University with a B.A. before earning his J.D. from Rutgers University–Camden. His academic path combined liberal arts and law school training in the Northeast. Those years set the stage for work that moved between public service and private practice.
He began his legal career in federal service. In 2000 he served as a trial lawyer for the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement. That role placed him in the courtroom on matters tied to immigration enforcement and prosecution. A few years later he entered private practice, joining R&G, P.A. in 2003, where he worked on litigation and regulatory matters.
In 2009 he became a partner at Pozo Goldstein LLP. Over time his practice shifted back toward immigration-related litigation and criminal defense matters. He has appellate experience in the Eleventh Circuit and maintains licensure to practice in Florida. His résumé includes both trial courtroom work and appellate filings.
Goldstein’s professional record includes positions tied to federal agencies. He has served as counsel to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and held roles connected to the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security. Earlier in his career he was a prosecutor for U.S. immigration authorities. He also has a background in law enforcement outside the courtroom, having served as a police captain prior to concentrating full time on legal practice.
He maintains memberships in several bar and professional organizations. Those include the Florida Bar, where he is listed in good standing, the Dade County and Broward County Bar Associations, and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Fraternal Order of Police. The mix of associations reflects both his immigration litigation work and prior law enforcement service.
Goldstein works from Pozo Goldstein, LLP, which lists offices including a New York location in addition to its Florida presence. He handles matters that arise in state and federal forums, including appeals in the Eleventh Circuit. He combines prior prosecutorial and enforcement experience with years in private practice. He now practices immigration and criminal defense law at Pozo Goldstein, LLP.
