About Steve

Steve Sullivan trained in Columbus, earning his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law in 1998. He came out of law school at a time when many graduates pursued public sector work. Sullivan chose a path that placed him inside the day-to-day operations of district legal offices in Colorado.

By 2006 he was working in the 11th Judicial District Lawyer's Office. That posting exposed him to the routines and procedures of district-level practice. Records show he later moved to the 3rd Judicial District Lawyer's Office, where he has continued his work in the state. The sequence of those roles suggests a career spent largely inside governmental legal institutions rather than in private practice.

Lawyers in district offices take on a broad portfolio. They appear in court, draft pleadings, advise public entities and manage caseloads that range from misdemeanor matters to complex civil issues. Sullivan’s resume indicates steady engagement with that kind of institutional work. Over the years he has developed familiarity with Colorado’s district court processes and the interagency dynamics that attend local legal administration.

Those who work in district lawyer’s offices must balance courtroom time with behind-the-scenes tasks. Files, evidence, memoranda and calendar management all compete for attention. Sullivan’s tenure across multiple district offices points to experience juggling those competing demands. He has handled matters that require coordination with prosecutors, judges and court staff, and he has navigated the procedural rhythms unique to Colorado’s judicial districts.

Sullivan remains licensed to practice in Colorado and has built a career inside the state’s judicial framework. His professional path reflects a focus on public-sector lawyering at the district level rather than a move into boutique private practice. Colleagues note the institutional memory that long-term district work creates; Sullivan’s record suggests he offers that kind of continuity to the offices where he has served.

Today he practices in the 3rd Judicial District Lawyer’s Office in Colorado. His current practice focuses on district-level legal matters in Colorado.
