About Steve

Steve Perrigo earned his juris doctor from Nashville School of Law in 2010. He attended the school after earlier professional experience, and returned to the campus a year later as an instructor. His legal training came after a long tenure in federal disability administration, and that background shapes how he approaches cases.

He began his career in public service as a manager at the Social Security Administration in 1993. That role placed him inside the system that decides disability benefits. Years in that environment gave him daily exposure to claims processes and administrative decision-making.

In 2010 he moved into the private sector, taking a position as vice president at Allsup, LLC. The same year he began practicing law. By 2011 he was teaching Social Security Disability Law as an adjunct professor at Nashville School of Law. Students who sat in his classes encountered a practitioner who could explain both statutory rules and the practical mechanics of claims and appeals.

Perrigo holds memberships in professional organizations that concentrate on disability representation. He is a current member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant Representatives and the National Association of Disability Representatives. Those affiliations connect him to peers who handle administrative hearings and appeals across the country.

He later joined Disability Law Group, LLC, where he works with people pursuing disability benefits. His combination of administrative experience, private-sector work, and law instruction gives him a perspective on cases that move through the Social Security system. He is licensed to practice in Tennessee and has worked on matters at different stages of the claim process.

Colleagues describe him as a practitioner who knows the procedural landscape of disability law and who can explain it plainly to clients. His classroom work and earlier federal service inform the way he prepares cases for hearings and communicates what to expect from administrative timelines. He remains active in professional circles that monitor changes in disability advocacy and practice.

He now practices at Disability Law Group, LLC and represents claimants in Social Security disability matters.
