About Steve

Steve Giacoletto built his legal foundation in St. Louis. He earned a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1987 and completed his J.D. at Saint Louis University School of Law in 1990. Those years set the course for a career spent largely in the Midwest and in federal appellate work.

After law school, Giacoletto entered private practice and gradually expanded the scope of his courtroom work. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri and is also authorized before the Seventh Circuit and the Federal Circuit. Over time his docket has included matters at both trial and appellate levels. He has appeared in state courts and argued appeals in federal forums, representing clients on procedural and substantive issues that arise in complex litigation.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in court and prepared at the lectern. He favors careful case preparation and clear appellate briefs. Those traits have shaped a practice that often intersects trial litigation and appellate review. He has managed fact development and preserved issues for appeal, tasks that call for attention to detail and a steady pace under court deadlines.

Giacoletto founded and now practices out of Giacoletto Law Office. The firm handles litigation across the jurisdictions where he is admitted. Cases in his practice have required familiarity with federal appellate procedure and state court practice. He works with clients and co-counsel to map litigation strategies from initial filing through potential appeal. That work calls for translating complex factual records into concise legal arguments, both at trial and on brief.

Outside the courtroom, he has maintained ties to the legal community in Illinois and Missouri. He keeps current on appellate rules and precedents that shape litigation strategy. His work reflects steady involvement in the types of disputes that move between trial courts and appellate benches.

As of 2026, Giacoletto continues to practice at Giacoletto Law Office, concentrating on litigation and appellate matters.
