About Steve D.

Steve D. Hardin built his legal career on steady, practical work in Missouri courts. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Arkansas State University in 1996 and took his law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1999. Those years set the foundation for a courtroom practice shaped by hands-on experience and long hours in trial settings.

After law school Hardin entered public service. In 2001 he joined the Office of the Public Defender as an assistant public defender. There he handled a range of state criminal matters and learned to manage fast-moving dockets, client expectations, and the pressures of trial litigation. The job required quick judgment and persistent preparation.

A decade later he moved into private practice. In 2011 he opened The Hardin Law Office LLC. Running a small firm changed his role. He still appears in court, but he also manages the operations of a firm and makes the strategic choices that shape client representation. The transition expanded his perspective on case management and client communication.

Hardin is admitted to practice in Missouri and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Those admissions reflect a practice that crosses both state and federal lines. He has prosecuted and defended motions, taken cases to trial, and handled procedural work in federal filings. His experience in public defense informs how he approaches both client counseling and courtroom advocacy.

Colleagues describe Hardin as deliberate and unflashy. He tends to favor clear, direct argument over theatrical gestures. He prepares thoroughly and expects the same from opposing counsel. That approach has guided his courtroom strategy and client conversations alike. He spends time explaining possible outcomes and the steps required to reach them.

He continues to operate The Hardin Law Office LLC and remains active in Missouri courtrooms. He represents clients in matters that require appearances in state court and in the Eastern District of Missouri. His current practice centers on representing clients in Missouri state and federal courts.
