About Steve

Steve Chlouber earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1991 after completing undergraduate studies in management at Oklahoma State University in 1988. He built a foundation in legal theory and practical skills during his time in law school, then moved into private practice in Oklahoma. His academic background ties him to two of the state's prominent public universities and to a generation of attorneys who came of age professionally in the early 1990s.

He joined Fuller, Chlouber & Frizzell, LLP as a lawyer and has worked there as part of a team that serves clients across the state. Over the years he has litigated matters in both state and federal forums, and he holds admission to practice in Oklahoma and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma. That range of admissions allows him to take cases that begin in state court and proceed to federal filings when federal jurisdiction or removal issues arise.

In courtroom work he represents clients before judges and juries, preparing pleadings, conducting discovery and arguing motions. Those activities reflect steady litigation experience rather than a single specialty. He is familiar with procedural and evidentiary practice in Oklahoma courts and has navigated the particular scheduling and motion practice common in the Northern and Eastern federal districts. His work requires close attention to court rules and to the practical demands of managing cases from early investigation through trial readiness.

Chlouber maintains membership in the Oklahoma Bar Association and participates in bar-related activities appropriate to active practitioners in the state. He keeps current on developments in Oklahoma law and federal procedure that affect cases before the districts where he is admitted. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in approach; clients expect a lawyer who will address the ordinary and the technical elements of litigation without unnecessary rhetoric.

He also handles transactional and advisory matters that arise out of litigation contexts, such as settlement negotiations and contract dispute resolution. Those tasks complement his courtroom work and often require coordination with experts, opposing counsel and clients to reach practical results. He currently focuses his practice on litigation and related dispute-resolution work in Oklahoma state and federal courts.
