About Stephen
Stephen Zemanick began his professional path at the University of Colorado, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1991. The degree preceded a move into the practice of law, a route that placed him in both large-firm and solo-practice settings over the years.
He joined Dorsey & Whitney LLP as an associate in 2006. At Dorsey he worked in a structured firm environment, handling assignments that come through a national practice. That period supplied the kind of day-to-day litigation and transactional exposure common at full-service firms, and it shaped how he approaches client matters.
In 2015 he left the partnership model to open his own shop, founding Four Reasons Legal as a sole proprietorship. Running a one-person firm changed the rhythm of his work. He moved from staffing matters across teams to handling engagements directly, managing client intake, strategy and execution himself.
Outside of his firm roles, Zemanick maintains professional ties that speak to his interests. He is a current member of the International Trademark Association. That membership keeps him connected to peers who practice in trademark and related intellectual property areas and offers access to education and industry developments.
His practice history reflects time spent inside a national firm and time spent operating independently. That combination influences how he structures client relationships and scopes legal projects. It also informs how he balances practical problem solving against procedural requirements.
Today he operates Four Reasons Legal. He takes on matters that draw on his background in trademark and related intellectual property work, while also addressing the range of issues that come to a small-firm general practice. His approach centers on handling files directly and keeping clients informed about practical options.
He continues to engage with professional groups to stay current on developments in trademark law and the broader intellectual property community. He practices law at Four Reasons Legal, handling trademark and other intellectual property matters.
