About Stephen
Stephen Stewart studied at the University of Pennsylvania before earning his law degree at Temple University Beasley School of Law. He left law school prepared for courtroom work and for managing the details that support it. His academic background combined an Ivy League undergraduate education with legal training from one of Pennsylvania’s long-established law schools.
He began his legal career in private practice and eventually took on leadership responsibilities that led him to found and run his own firm. As managing partner of Stephen Stewart Law, he oversees case strategy, client relations, and daily operations. He splits his time between client work and supervising other attorneys and staff, ensuring that cases move forward efficiently.
Mr. Stewart is licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States. Those admissions allow him to handle matters at both state and federal levels and to pursue appeals when cases move beyond trial courts. He also maintains professional memberships that connect him to legal peers and continuing education opportunities.
His practice involves litigation and counsel that require court appearances and written advocacy. He prepares pleadings, argues motions, and handles appeals when appropriate. He is comfortable working across trial court dockets and in appellate settings. In managing a small firm, he balances the demands of individual client matters with broader case management responsibilities and law office administration.
Clients work with him directly on case strategy and courtroom preparation. He supervises discovery, drafts briefs, and prepares witnesses for testimony. He also handles filings in both state and federal systems and coordinates with co-counsel or outside experts when cases call for it.
Colleagues describe his approach as straightforward. He emphasizes preparation, clear communication, and practical solutions to legal problems. He prefers to explain options plainly and to set realistic expectations about timing and outcomes.
He continues to lead Stephen Stewart Law and represent clients in matters brought in New Jersey and Pennsylvania courts, as well as in the Third Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court when admissions permit such filings. His current practice focuses on courtroom advocacy, appellate work, and managing client matters through all stages of litigation.
