Stephen Reid Moorhead is a seasoned real estate attorney based in Pensacola, Florida — His legal career began with his admission to the Florida Bar on October 17, 1986. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the practice of law, earning a reputation for his expertise in real estate matters. In 1992, he achieved Board Certification in Real Estate Law from The Florida Bar’s Committee on Education and Legal Specialization—a distinction that shows his commitment to excellence in the field. As the founding partner of Moorhead Law Group, located at 127 Palafox Place, Suite 200, Pensacola, FL 32502, Moorhead specializes in real estate litigation, development, and complex commercial real estate transactions. His firm has become a trusted resource for clients handling the requirements of real estate law.
Throughout his career, Moorhead has been recognized for both his legal acumen and his active involvement in the community, solidifying his status as a leader in the Pensacola area. Moorhead's accolades include being named a Florida Super Lawyer for multiple years, with recognitions in 2020 and 2025. In 2024, he received the prestigious title of Business Leader of the Year from the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, highlighting his influence in the local business community. From 1996 to 1998, he served on the Executive Council of the Florida Bar’s Section on Real Property, Probate and Trust Law.
Since 1992, he has also been a member and co-chair of the Real Property Problems Study Committee of the Florida Bar. In addition to his legal practice, Moorhead is deeply engaged in community service. He serves as General Counsel for the Home Builders Association of West Florida, providing legal guidance to an organization that plays a vital role in the local construction industry. His involvement extends to various boards, including Achieve Escambia and ReadyKids!, where he contributes to initiatives aimed at improving education and youth services in the region. From 2017 to 2019, he held the position of Chair of the Board of Directors for the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce, further demonstrating his leadership in the community.
Moorhead earned his Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 1986, shortly before beginning his practice. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Auburn University, which complements his legal expertise. A sixth-generation Floridian, he is married to Rhonda, a former public school teacher. Together, they have four sons and a granddaughter, embodying a family deeply rooted in the local community and committed to its future.
