About Stephen

Stephen Gabrielson has spent decades in Minnesota courtrooms. He earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1980 and began a career that has centered on civil litigation. Over more than four decades he has tried cases, advised clients and worked through complex disputes across the state.

Early in his practice Gabrielson concentrated on courtroom work. He pursued the credentials that reflect that direction and earned Civil Trial Specialist recognition from the Minnesota State Bar Association in 1992. Five years later he received the Civil Trial Specialist designation from the National Board of Trial Advocacy in 1997. Those certifications mark a pattern: sustained attention to trial practice and the procedures that govern civil jury and bench trials.

Gabrielson’s professional affiliations track a steady involvement in legal communities at both the local and national levels. He is an active member of the American Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association. Locally he participates in the Stearns/Benton County Bar Association and the Aitkin Crow Wing County Bar Association. He also belongs to the American Association for Justice, the Minnesota Association for Justice and the American Arbitration Association. Those memberships reflect regular engagement with peers, continuing education and dispute resolution processes outside the courtroom.

Throughout his career Gabrielson has handled a range of civil matters that require trial experience, including cases that present complex factual records and contested liability and damages issues. He has frequently taken cases to jury verdict and is familiar with pretrial motion practice, evidence presentation and the mechanics of courtroom advocacy. His approach to cases is pragmatic. He prepares thoroughly and pursues the pathway that best serves a client’s legal objectives, whether settling short of trial or proceeding to verdict.

Gabrielson practices under the name Gabrielson Law and maintains offices in Sartell and Brainerd, providing regional access to clients across central Minnesota. He serves both individual and business clients and works regularly in state courts. His calendar often includes trials, arbitration hearings and dispositive motion work.

Colleagues and clients describe him as experienced in courtroom procedure and steady under pressure. He continues to participate in bar activities and arbitration forums as part of ongoing professional involvement. His current practice concentrates on civil trial work and related dispute resolution in Minnesota.
