About Stephen Birk
Stephen Birk Baumgartner earned his J.D. from Southern Methodist University in 2014 after beginning his law studies in 2011. He moved quickly from the classroom into practice. The early years of his legal training included courtroom observation and practical clinics that shaped his approach to casework. Those experiences informed how he would run a law office and manage client matters in the years that followed.
Soon after completing law school, Baumgartner stepped into a leadership role at his own firm. He has served as CEO of BAUMGARTNER LAW, LLC since 2014. In that position he oversees day-to-day operations and makes decisions about the firm’s strategic direction. Colleagues say he is practical in his management style and attentive to the logistical needs of running a small law office.
He is admitted to practice in Colorado and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. That dual admission has shaped the range of matters he takes on and the courts where he practices. He handles matters that arise in both state and federal settings and manages filings and procedural requirements for cases that proceed beyond trial into appellate review.
Baumgartner maintains involvement in the legal community through professional memberships and continuing education. He attends seminars and training to keep current on procedural changes and court rules that affect litigation and appellate work. That ongoing learning feeds into how he prepares cases and coordinates with clients, opposing counsel and court staff.
He maintains his practice through BAUMGARTNER LAW, LLC, where he combines casework with the administrative responsibilities of running a small firm. His practice operates in the jurisdictions where he is admitted, and he continues to accept matters that require representation in Colorado and before the Tenth Circuit. He currently maintains a practice through BAUMGARTNER LAW, LLC handling matters in Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
