About Stephanie M.

Stephanie M. Alcala built a practice out of the routine moments people rarely talk about: visa interviews, citizenship paperwork and the tense hearings that decide who can stay in the United States. She trained in Southern California and returned there to practice law. Her path shows steady movement from student to partner to firm leader.

Alcala earned her undergraduate degree in communications at the University of California, San Diego in 2008 after completing transfer studies at Southwestern College in 2005. She then attended California Western School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2013. Those years established both the legal grounding and the practical perspective she carried into private practice.

Her early professional steps included a partnership role at South Bay Immigration Lawyers, LLP beginning in 2013. That position gave her experience handling client intake, case strategy and courtroom appearances. Two years later she launched her own firm. In 2015 she became CEO of Stephanie Alcala Law Offices, APC, taking on the administrative responsibilities of running an office while continuing to represent clients.

Colleagues and clients see Alcala most often in immigration matters. She joined the American Immigration Lawyers Association in 2013 and remains an active member. Through that organization she has kept up with changes in federal practice and administrative developments. Her caseload has included family-based petitions, adjustment of status applications and naturalization cases. She has also handled removal defense and waiver applications when clients’ immigration status is at risk.

Alcala’s work style favors practical solutions. She prepares documents, attends interviews and argues motions when necessary. She runs a practice that balances litigation and paperwork. That means regular court appearances and steady client consultations. She now concentrates on immigration cases, representing individuals and families in family petitions, adjustment of status, naturalization and removal defense matters in California.
