About Stephanie K
Stephanie K Burnham earned her law degree from Western New England University School of Law in 1998 after completing a Bachelor of Science in General Biology at the University of New Hampshire in 1994. The combination of a science background and legal training shaped an analytical approach that she brought into private practice. Her education provided a foundation in research, critical thinking and procedural discipline.
She entered private practice at the start of the 21st century, establishing herself as a solo practitioner in 2001 under the name Stephanie K. Burnham, Lawyer at Law. That early period involved building a client base and developing courtroom and negotiation skills. Over time she adjusted her practice structure as client needs and professional opportunities evolved.
In 2010 she formed Stephanie K. Burnham & Associates, Lawyers at Law, PLLC, expanding the practice model and operating under a formal professional limited liability company. She later joined Hage Hodes, PA as a lawyer in 2016, working within a different firm environment and gaining experience that comes from collaborative practice. In 2022 she launched Burnham Legal, PLLC, returning to firm ownership and directing the firm’s operations.
Burnham is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She has maintained ties to the profession beyond client representation. Since 2006 she has been a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association Ethics Committee, participating in discussions and reviews related to professional conduct. She also serves as an arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau, a role she began in 2003 and continues to hold. Those positions reflect long-term involvement in procedural and ethical aspects of the legal field.
Colleagues describe her work as steady and pragmatic. She has navigated the transitions between solo practice, firm partnership and firm ownership, carrying forward administrative responsibilities as well as client-centered tasks. Her experience includes case preparation, client counseling, negotiation and dispute resolution. She represents clients in matters that arise in state courts and administrative settings across her admitted jurisdictions.
Burnham Legal, PLLC functions as her current firm. She maintains an active practice in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and continues her arbitration duties and participation on professional ethics panels. Her present work centers on representing individuals and entities in matters that require courtroom advocacy, counseling and alternative dispute resolution.
