About Stacy
Stacy Stefanik took the long route into the courthouse. She earned her J.D. from Cleveland State University in 2010 and has since built a practice that operates in both state and federal arenas. Colleagues note she moves deliberately — careful to prepare the record before she speaks in court.
After law school she entered practice in Ohio. She is admitted to the Ohio bar and to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Those admissions shape the kinds of matters she takes and the forums where she appears. She has handled filings, hearings and motions in state courts and in federal court, and she understands the procedural differences that can matter to a case.
Stefanik maintains active membership in local and statewide legal groups. She belongs to the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the Akron Bar Association, and she holds membership in the Ohio Association for Justice. Those ties keep her connected to peers and to developments in court rules and trial practice. She attends association programs and contributes at events when schedules allow.
Her work is oriented around courtroom process and client communication. She prepares pleadings, manages discovery, and presents arguments in hearings. In describing her approach, people often point to clear, plain explanations for clients and careful attention to deadlines and evidentiary issues. She prepares witnesses and organizes records so files are ready if a case moves toward trial.
Cases bring routine tasks and sudden problems. Stefanik’s practice handles both. She spends time drafting briefs and responding to opposing filings. She also spends time meeting clients, reviewing medical and financial documents, and coordinating with expert witnesses when needed. That combination keeps the work detail-oriented and occasionally urgent.
Outside of litigation tasks, she follows changes in law that affect practice in Ohio and in the Northern District of Ohio. She reads new opinions, follows rule amendments, and adapts office procedures to reflect those developments. That constant attention to legal changes is part of how she keeps cases moving.
She maintains an active practice in Ohio and in the Northern District of Ohio. She currently handles matters in Ohio state and federal courts.
