About Stacy

Stacy Bardo came to law from a social-policy background. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Policy from Northwestern University in 1997 and went on to receive her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2000. Those academic years framed an interest in how law affects everyday people.

After law school, Bardo entered private practice and later founded Bardo Law, P.C. She built the firm around litigation work and representation of individual clients. Over time her practice expanded to include work in federal courts and appellate matters.

Bardo is admitted to practice in Illinois and before the Seventh and Ninth United States Courts of Appeal. Those admissions allow her to handle cases that move beyond state trial courts. She has pursued appeals and federal filings that require familiarity with both trial and appellate procedure.

Her professional activities extend beyond casework. Since 2012 she has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Consumer Advocates, a role that has placed her in conversations about policy and practice among consumer lawyers nationwide. She has been a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association since 2000, participating in local professional networks and continuing legal education.

Colleagues describe Bardo as deliberate in her preparation and direct in court. She runs pretrial discovery thoroughly and often frames settlement talks around concrete evidentiary focuses rather than broad theory. Her courtroom work includes motions practice, hearings, and argument at both the trial and appellate levels. She handles a variety of consumer-related claims, including debt-collection disputes and cases alleging violations of consumer protection statutes.

On the administrative side she manages the firm she founded. That role requires balancing client work, case management, and the practical tasks of operating a small law office. She oversees litigation strategy while supervising support staff and outside counsel when matters require additional resources.

Bardo maintains a steady presence in bar activities and national associations while continuing to litigate. Her current practice at Bardo Law, P.C. centers on consumer protection and related litigation.
