About Staci
Staci Visser trained in Salt Lake City. She earned her J.D. from The University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2012. That education set the stage for steady work in Utah courts and legal clinics in the years that followed.
Her career began soon after law school. In 2012 she joined Clayton Simms, LLC as an associate lawyer, where she handled a range of matters for private clients. By 2014 she was working as a staff lawyer at Open Legal Services, an experience that broadened her exposure to client intake, case management and direct representation. In 2016 she returned to private practice as an associate at Intermountain Legal, P.C., the firm listed as her current office.
Visser’s professional memberships trace a consistent interest in family law, criminal defense and appellate work. She has been a member of the State Bar of Utah Appellate Practice Section and the State Bar of Utah Criminal Law Section since 2012. In 2013 she joined the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and its Amicus Committee. Her ties to the State Bar of Utah Family Section date from 2016. She is also a member of Women Lawyers of Utah.
Those associations have kept her connected to local practice developments and to colleagues across several practice areas. She has participated in committee work and section activities that examine appellate procedure and criminal-defense issues. Her roles have been practical and service-oriented rather than academic. Colleagues describe her as steady and task-oriented in case preparation.
Visser’s work history reflects a mix of public-service and private-practice roles. The stint at Open Legal Services exposed her to a heavier caseload and public-facing intake work. Her positions at Clayton Simms and Intermountain Legal placed her in more traditional associate roles, where she managed case files, prepared pleadings and appeared in court on behalf of clients.
She is licensed to practice in Utah and remains active in the state’s bar sections that match her experience. Her practice combines elements of family law, criminal defense and appellate representation, and she handles matters in Utah’s trial and appellate courts. Currently she is an associate at Intermountain Legal, P.C., where she continues to represent clients in family, criminal defense and appellate matters.
