About Stacey N.
Stacey N. Brancheau earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Michigan–Flint in 1986 and completed her law degree at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 1993. She combined business and legal training early, a background that has shaped a career spanning private practice, bank trust services and financial planning.
After law school, Brancheau established a solo practice in 1995, operating as Stacey N. Brancheau, Lawyer at Law. She built that practice around estate planning and probate work, representing individuals and families on matters that often intersect with financial and fiduciary issues. In 2014 she became principal of The Brancheau Law Office, continuing the solo practice under that name while maintaining her emphasis on client-facing estate matters.
Between and alongside her private-practice roles, Brancheau spent several years in institutional trust and wealth-advisory positions. In 2005 she joined KeyBank as senior vice president and senior fiduciary advisor, where she advised fiduciaries and managed trust relationships. In 2013 she served as senior wealth planner at Greystone Financial Group. Those positions informed her courtroom and consulting work, and expanded her familiarity with institutional trust administration and financial planning strategies.
Brancheau holds professional credentials in both legal and financial realms. She is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA), accredited by the American Bankers Association, and she is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) through the Certified Financial Planner Board. Those certifications reflect training in fiduciary practice, investment matters and comprehensive financial planning.
Her involvement in the local legal community includes leadership in probate and estate planning circles. She served as co-chair of the Washtenaw County Bar Association’s Probate and Estate Planning Section from 2010 to 2012 and was on the board of the Washtenaw County Estate Planning Council from 2010 to 2011. She also held a membership in WealthCounsel from 2014 to 2015 and has participated in professional organizations since the mid-1990s.
Brancheau is licensed to practice in Michigan and divides her time between advising families, acting as counsel for estates and trusts, and consulting on fiduciary matters. Her practice centers on probate, estate planning and fiduciary matters.
