About Shiraz

Shiraz Khan built his legal path on a foundation of science and local training. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Wayne State University in 2007. Five years later he graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law with a J.D., entering the Michigan legal community in the early 2010s.

Khan moved into practice in Michigan after law school. He became involved in immigration matters and obtained the credentials to appear before the Executive Office for Immigration Review. Over time he established his own office. He is the founding lawyer of The Shiraz Law Office, PLLC, where he handles cases from initial filings through hearings in federal immigration court and related forums.

His academic background in biological sciences is an unusual thread in a legal résumé. That training gave him a habit of close evidence review and an attention to technical detail. He has applied that approach to the documentary and testimonial evidence that often decides immigration matters. Colleagues say he prefers clear explanations and careful preparation for hearings.

Khan is licensed to practice in Michigan and is admitted to appear before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. He holds membership that allows him to represent clients in immigration proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review. That role places him inside a system that can shape long-term outcomes for individuals and families.

His caseload has included asylum-related filings, cancellation of removal applications, and other immigration relief claims. He works with clients on paperwork, evidence collection, and courtroom representation. Clients have ranged from recent arrivals to long-term residents seeking relief from removal proceedings. He combines courtroom advocacy with administrative filing work.

Outside court, Khan keeps contacts within the local legal community. He has continued ties to Detroit-area institutions where he studied and began practice. That network helps in gathering expert statements and other documentary support that immigration cases often require.

Khan runs his practice from The Shiraz Law Office, PLLC. He maintains court appearances in Michigan and in federal court when required. His current practice concentrates on immigration litigation and administrative representation in Michigan and in the Eastern District of Michigan.
