About Shawnna R.
Shawnna R. Riggers built a legal path that began with studies at Arizona State University and continued through Seattle University School of Law. She earned a B.S. from Arizona State in 2002 and received her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law in 2006. Those years set the groundwork for a practice based in Arizona family courts.
By 2009 she was serving as the managing lawyer and owner of Arizona Family Law Lawyers. That role has defined much of her professional life. It placed her at the centre of both casework and the daily operations of a small law practice.
Her practice deals with the standard range of family law matters that come before state courts. She handles cases involving divorce, child custody and parenting time, child support, spousal maintenance, property division and paternity. Cases can range from routine to complex, and the work requires attention to both legal detail and the personal circumstances clients bring into the process.
At the firm she oversees client files and directs litigation strategy. She also manages administrative duties that come with running a law office. The combination of courtroom work and practice management means she spends time both drafting motions and preparing clients for hearings.
Riggers represents clients in Arizona state courts and appears at hearings and trials when matters cannot be resolved by agreement. She also engages in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution when those options serve a client’s goals. Her approach aims to move cases forward efficiently while addressing the practical needs that often accompany family law matters.
Colleagues and former clients describe her as practical and straightforward in court filings and oral advocacy. She balances the adversarial aspects of family litigation with efforts to achieve workable outcomes through negotiation when possible. Her practice reflects the day-to-day realities of family law in Arizona.
She currently handles family law matters in Arizona.
