About Shawn

After completing his legal education, Shawn McGinnis moved to Utah to begin a practice centered on civil litigation. He started in smaller firms and in-house roles where he learned courtroom procedure and client counseling. Those early years built a practical sense of how case strategy unfolds from intake through trial.

McGinnis spent much of his career representing people injured in accidents. He litigated claims against insurers and medical providers. He tried cases in state courts and handled settlement negotiations that required both patience and precision. Colleagues say he approaches factual disputes with methodical preparation and an eye for documentary detail.

Beyond the courtroom, McGinnis took on the routine tasks that keep a practice running. He prepared pleadings, took depositions, and coordinated medical records. He also worked with experts to explain complex injuries to judges and juries. Those tasks sharpened his judgment about which cases to try and which to resolve before trial.

Over time McGinnis expanded his work to include a range of personal injury matters. He represents clients in automobile and motorcycle collisions, premises liability claims, and cases involving serious bodily harm. He handles interactions with opposing counsel, files motions to preserve evidence, and pursues compensatory recoveries on behalf of injured clients. His practice combines case management with direct courtroom advocacy.

Colleagues describe McGinnis as pragmatic. He prepares cases for trial even when settlement looks likely. That readiness helps preserve options for clients. He maintains active memberships in professional organizations and stays current on developments in tort law and procedural rules.

McGinnis joined McMullin Injury Law as part of a team that focuses on injury litigation in Utah. At the firm he contributes courtroom experience and day-to-day handling of client matters. He continues to accept new cases and represents clients throughout the state.

He practices law in Utah and is currently part of McMullin Injury Law, where his work concentrates on personal injury representation and related litigation matters.
