Shawn Ellen Lampron is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1987. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Lampron is a partner at Fenwick & West LLP, a law firm specializing in technology and life sciences sectors, located at 801 California Street, Mountain View, California. She has been practicing law for over 38 years, serving clients throughout the Silicon Valley area and beyond.
Ms. Lampron earned her Juris Doctor degree from New York University School of Law in 1982. She furthered her legal education by obtaining a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from the same institution in 1987. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Harvard University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government in 1979. During her time at NYU, she developed a strong foundation in taxation, which has been integral to her legal practice.
Ms. Lampron concentrates her practice in the areas of executive compensation and employee benefits. She advises high-growth and public companies, as well as venture and institutional investors, on a broad range of compensation matters. She has deep experience counseling clients through the tax and securities law issues that affect these programs, particularly in the context of startups, emerging growth companies, manufacturing, and service businesses. Her practice also involves negotiating and preparing incentive, employment, and severance arrangements for both companies and executives, and providing practical guidance on equity and benefits matters in IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
Throughout her career, Ms. Lampron has handled cases in various courts, including the Superior Court of California for the County of Santa Clara and the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to joining Fenwick & West, she was a partner at Gunderson Dettmer, where she led the executive compensation and employee benefits practice. Before that, she served as Of Counsel at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, and was associated with Bingham Dana & Gould. Her extensive experience spans over three decades, during which she has developed a reputation for her expertise in executive compensation and employee benefits.
Ms. Lampron is an active member of the California State Bar Association and has been recognized by Chambers USA as one of California’s leading lawyers in her field. She is also a co-author of "Executive Compensation for Emerging Companies." Her work has been instrumental in advising clients on complex compensation matters across industries, particularly in the tech and life sciences sectors. Ms. Lampron is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of French, allowing her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
