About Shawn Danette
Shawn Danette Glaza combines courtroom experience and dispute resolution training. She has moved between private practice and roles that call for both litigation and mediation skills. The result is a steady, practical approach to everyday legal problems.
She earned a B.A. in Communication from Oakland University and later completed a J.D. at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2012. Those academic credentials set a foundation for work in state and federal courts. She is admitted to practice in Michigan and before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Her legal career began at the Law Office of Barton Morris, where she worked as a law clerk and then as an associate. Those early years gave her front-line exposure to client preparation and case management. In 2015 she took on the role of managing partner at Glaza Law, PLC, a position that reflected a shift toward running a practice as well as handling cases.
Since then her résumé has included a mix of in-house and of-counsel positions. She served as of-counsel to Scott Grabel and Associates beginning in 2016. She spent time with At Law Group PLLC in 2019 and was listed as a lawyer with ASK ME! Legal Group in 2022. Those moves illustrate a career that has balanced solo and collaborative practice settings, along with periodic affiliations to larger groups.
Glaza has also pursued training outside the courtroom. She is a Michigan State Certified Mediator, which equips her to handle settlement discussions and structured negotiations. She completed the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration/International Association of Chiefs of Police standardized field sobriety testing practitioner course, a credential often relevant in matters involving driving and traffic enforcement.
Her work draws on both litigation and alternative dispute resolution tools. She represents clients in matters that arise in state courts and, when appropriate, in federal court in the Eastern District of Michigan. Her practice history shows a mix of criminal defense-related training and general civil case handling.
She maintains an office at Glaza Law, PLC and continues to practice in Michigan. Her current practice focuses on civil litigation, traffic and driving-related matters, and mediation.
