Shawn Anthony Doan is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in California in 1999. He holds and maintains an active license status. Mr. Doan is a partner at Doan Law Firm, a law firm specializing in bankruptcy and personal injury cases, with offices in Escondido, Oceanside, La Mesa, Chula Vista, and San Diego, California. He has been practicing law for over 27 years, serving clients throughout Southern California.
Mr. Doan earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of San Diego in 1996. He then attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in 1999. During his time at Thomas Jefferson, he gained practical experience in bankruptcy law, which laid the foundation for his future practice.
Mr. Doan focuses his practice on bankruptcy law, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 proceedings, as well as personal injury cases involving car accidents, construction accidents, and wrongful death claims. He represents clients at all stages of litigation, from initial case evaluation and discovery to settlement negotiations and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Doan has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. He has also appeared before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate attorney at a bankruptcy-focused law firm in San Diego for several years.
Mr. Doan is an active member of the California State Bar Association and the San Diego County Bar Association. He is also a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA) and the American Bankruptcy Institute. Mr. Doan is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to effectively serve the diverse communities of Southern California.
