About Shaun
Shaun Fernandez earned his law degree from the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law after beginning studies in 2017 and graduating in 2020. His time at Boyd coincided with a period of curricular change and growth at the school. He left with a J.D. and a foundation in Nevada law, prepared to work in the courts where he was admitted to practice.
After law school, Fernandez built a practice in Nevada. He is licensed to practice in the state and has worked in matters that bring him before state courts and administrative bodies. His early work involved courtroom appearances and written advocacy. Over time he added case preparation, negotiations and motion practice to his routine. He has handled a range of matters that require attention to deadlines, procedural rules and local practice nuances.
Fernandez’s work centers on disputes and proceedings under Nevada law. He advises and represents individuals and organizations in state trial courts and in hearings before agencies where state statutes and regulations are at issue. He prepares pleadings, argues motions and supports clients through discovery and trial preparation. His practice requires steady attention to procedural detail and the ability to communicate complex legal points clearly to judges, opposing counsel and clients.
Colleagues describe him as direct and practical in the courtroom. He prefers clear, plain spoken argument over rhetorical flourish. Outside hearings he spends time preparing documents, reviewing evidence and coordinating with experts and witnesses when cases require them. He also attends continuing legal education to stay current on changes in Nevada procedure and substantive law.
In day-to-day practice Fernandez balances courtroom work with client counseling. He manages case timelines, drafts strategy memos and keeps clients informed about realistic options and likely outcomes. His career path so far has kept him closely tied to Nevada’s courts and procedures. He currently practices in Nevada, representing clients in state courts and administrative proceedings.
