About Sharon

Sharon Barker earned her Juris Doctor from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. She left law school ready for practice and has built a steady career since that time. Her legal education provided a foundation in core areas of law and practical training that she has applied in day-to-day client work.

Early in her career Barker moved into practice roles that required both courtroom presence and client counseling. She has handled matters that required written advocacy, negotiation and attention to procedural detail. Colleagues describe her approach as methodical and pragmatic. She favors clear analysis and careful planning over flash and relies on thorough preparation when a case requires litigation.

Across a range of matters she has worked with individual and business clients. Her work has included transactional review, contract drafting, and dispute resolution. She has also advised clients on compliance questions and administrative procedures. Her tasks have often involved translating complex legal rules into practical steps clients can follow.

Barker has maintained membership in professional associations throughout her career, participating in the professional community and staying current on developments in the law. That participation has kept her connected to peers and to changing practice standards. It has also informed how she structures client matters and prepares for hearings or negotiations.

Her practice style blends attention to detail with an emphasis on client communication. She tends to break complex problems into discrete issues that can be addressed over time. When litigation is necessary, she prepares thoroughly. When negotiation will achieve a client’s aims, she pursues practical settlements that reflect the client’s priorities.

She has worked in both individual representation and collaborative team settings. In team matters she often coordinates assignments and ensures that filings and deadlines are met. In solo matters she handles intake, strategy and client updates directly. This range of settings has given her experience in managing workflows and maintaining consistent client contact.

Barker continues to serve clients in private practice. Her current practice centers on civil and commercial matters, where she focuses on guiding clients through dispute resolution, contract issues and regulatory questions.
