About Shannon G.

Shannon G. Thatcher earned her law degree from Capital University in 2005. She completed her legal education before beginning a practice that would remain centered in Ohio. Her academic record set the stage for a steady progression from associate roles to founding her own firms.

Her early legal work began in 2009 at Becker & Lilly, LLC. That year marked her entry into several professional associations, including The Ohio State Bar Association, The American Bar Association and The Columbus Bar Association. The memberships indicated a quick integration into the regional legal community and provided a network she would draw on throughout her career.

In 2012 she launched The Law Office of Shannon G. Becker, LLC. The new firm gave her a platform to handle a range of matters for local clients. That same year she joined North Central State College as an adjunct professor. Students recall a practical instructor who mixed classroom theory with cases from practice. Teaching allowed her to step back from day-to-day casework on occasion and reflect on larger questions in law.

Two years later she founded Thatcher Law, LLC. The firm became her primary practice vehicle and remains listed as her office. Along the way she secured certification as a Guardian ad Litem from the Supreme Court of Ohio. That credential qualified her to represent the interests of children and other parties where a neutral court-appointed advocate was needed. It also shaped part of the caseload her offices would handle.

Her association memberships have tracked alongside her career. She has maintained membership in the Richland County Bar Association since 2012. She continues to be a member of state and national bar groups that she joined in 2009. She was active in local Bar circles including The Columbus Bar Association and The Women Lawyers of Franklin County during earlier stretches of her practice.

Colleagues describe a lawyer who moves through cases methodically and expects clear communication. She has balanced practice management with classroom duties and the responsibilities that come with running small firms. That balance is evident in how her offices are organized and how matters are handled day-to-day.

As of 2026 she practices from Thatcher Law, LLC and holds the Supreme Court of Ohio certification as a Guardian ad Litem. Her current practice emphasizes client representation and court-appointed advocacy on matters brought in Ohio courts.
