About Shannon E.

Shannon E. Stein practices law in California and has combined legal work with long-standing service in local bar governance. Her career is marked more by steady involvement than by headline cases. She is active in the Santa Clara County Bar Association and has held its President-Elect post since 2010.

She began her academic path on the West Coast, earning a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego in 1995. Two years later she completed a Master of Arts in Jewish Communal Service at Brandeis University. She then attended Michigan State University College of Law, earning her J.D. in 2000. At Michigan State she served as Notes and Comments Editor of the Law Review and participated in Moot Court, roles that shaped her legal writing and oral advocacy skills.

After law school she established her practice in California. Over the years she has taken on responsibilities in the Santa Clara County Bar Association, moving into its leadership ranks and serving as President-Elect from 2010 to the present. That post has involved organizing programs for attorneys, contributing to continuing-education efforts, and engaging in the association’s governance. Colleagues describe her as methodical in committee work and persistent in following through on organizational initiatives.

Her background in law review and moot court underpins a practice that relies on careful legal analysis and persuasive argument. She has experience preparing written submissions and presenting arguments in settings that require both attention to detail and clarity under pressure. Those skills also inform her contributions to bar programs and to mentoring younger lawyers through association activities.

Today she maintains an active practice in California while continuing to play a role in bar association leadership. She balances client matters and advocacy in court with work on professional development programs and local legal community initiatives. Her current practice includes courtroom advocacy, client counseling and ongoing service within the Santa Clara County legal community.
