Shane Smith earned his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law, receiving a J.D. in 2000. He completed his undergraduate studies at Georgia College & State University, part of the University System of Georgia, where he graduated in 1997 with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. Those academic credentials set the foundation for a career split between state, federal and military forums.
After law school, Smith built a practice that spans multiple jurisdictions. He is admitted to practice in Georgia, to the Federal Court for the Middle District of Georgia, and before U.S. Military Courts. Over the years he has handled matters that required familiarity with differing procedural rules and evidentiary standards.
