About Shaleigha M.

Shaleigha M. Shepard completed her legal education at Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law, earning her J.D. in 2021. She earlier received a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Southern University in 2014. The path from undergraduate study to law school was steady and focused, culminating in the coursework and clinics that accompany a modern law degree.

During law school Shepard was part of a class that navigated a shifting legal landscape. Her academic record reflects the intensive study required of recent law graduates. She finished in 2021 and moved into the next phase of professional qualification and courtroom admission.

Shepard is admitted to practice in the State of Texas and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Those admissions define the geographic reach of her practice and the forums in which she can represent clients. Entry to federal court often follows state admission for lawyers seeking to appear in both trial and appellate settings.

In the years since law school, her work has involved representing clients in matters that require filings, hearings, and appearances in Texas state courts and in the Southern District of Texas. She has handled case preparation and procedural work that support litigation and dispute resolution. Her approach is practical. She prepares pleadings, manages discovery, and appears where the record and testimony are required.

Colleagues describe her as methodical in assembling legal records and attentive to court deadlines. She takes the steps necessary to present factual records to judges and opposing counsel. That attention to process shapes how she handles filings and courtroom calendars.

Outside of court appearances, Shepard’s background includes the research and drafting tasks that form the backbone of legal practice. Those activities can include motions, memoranda, and client correspondence aimed at advancing a client’s position within the bounds of statutory and case law.

Shepard practices in Texas and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Her current work centers on representing clients in matters brought in state courts and in the Southern District of Texas.
