About Shahzad
Shahzad Ahmed has practiced law in Florida for more than two decades. He earned a B.A. from Florida Atlantic University in 1990 and a J.D. from Touro College in 1994. While still in law school he interned at the Boca Raton Police Department, an early glimpse into public service that preceded a law clerk position in 1996 at the Law Offices of David M. Sperling.
Ahmed was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1998. That year he began work as corporate counsel at AMREG, followed by a corporate counsel role at Choices & Associates in 1999. Those early in-house positions gave him experience in client counseling and organizational compliance.
He moved into private practice at the turn of the century. In 2000 he joined the Law Office of Carlos Jean-Joseph, P.A. and two years later he became a lawyer at De Beaubien, Knight, Simmons, Mantzaris & Neal, LLP. In 2007 he worked at the Law Office of David F. Vedder, P.A. The next year he became a partner at NeJame Law, a position he has held since 2008.
Ahmed is admitted to practice in the Southern District of Florida (since 2000) and the Middle District of Florida (since 2010). He holds a certification in Immigration and Nationality Law from The Florida Bar. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, where he served as a director of the Central Florida Chapter from 2010 to 2011 and as vice chair in Orlando from 2013 to 2014.
Beyond bar and court admissions, he has been involved in nonprofit work. Since 2012 he has served on the board of directors of Zindagi Trust, USA. His involvement in professional and civic organizations runs alongside his practice and informs how he manages cases and client relationships.
Colleagues describe Ahmed as steady and practical. He handles matters that require attention to procedural detail. Over time his work has concentrated on immigration and related federal court practice. He continues to represent clients in state and federal forums and maintains active membership in the Florida Bar and federal courts where he is admitted.
He practices at NeJame Law and currently focuses on immigration and nationality matters.
