About Shahpour Meir
Shahpour Meir Matloob is an attorney admitted to the State Bar of California on December 6, 1999. He is currently associated with Matloob Law Office, where he practices law in various capacities.
Matloob obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, in 1999, with a concentration in International Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Near Eastern Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, which he earned in 1996.
His practice areas primarily focus on immigration law, where he handles cases related to asylum, family immigration, naturalization and citizenship, removal and deportation defense, and Violence Against Women Act petitions. Additionally, he deals with visitor and student visas, DACA applications, diversity visas, non-immigrant work visas, waivers, and changes in non-immigrant status. Matloob is experienced in various legal stages, including hearings, appeals, litigation, negotiations, and trials.
Matloob began his legal career in 2005 and has been involved in several professional associations. He is an advisory council member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association's Northern California Chapter and serves as a co-liaison for the San Francisco USCIS. He is also an advisory board member of the Iranian American Bar Association's Northern California Chapter and participates in the Jewish Community Relations Council’s Public Policy Committee.
In recognition of his contributions, Matloob received the Father Cuchulain Moriarty Award for pro bono work in the Asylum Program in 2016. He has been selected to Super Lawyers from 2019 to 2026. Matloob is fluent in both English and Persian (Farsi).
