About Shadan
Shadan Kapri earned her J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2005 after completing her legal studies that began in the early 2000s. While in law school she was named a Thomas More Scholar in 2003 and worked as a law school representative and legal researcher for LexisNexis that same year. She gained practical experience as a legal intern at the Center for Justice in 2004 and received a U.S. Fulbright fellowship in 2005.
Her early post‑graduate career included a judicial clerkship and research position in 2006 for the Chief Judge of the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division III. In that role she assisted with appellate research and the preparation of written analyses for the court. The clerkship placed her squarely in appellate practice and exposed her to a wide range of state law issues.
By 2008 Kapri was working in the Washington State prosecutor's office as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Lawyer in the Family Law and Criminal Division. She handled matters that required navigating both family law procedures and criminal prosecutions. That experience gave her courtroom time and familiarity with case preparation, evidentiary issues, and the dynamics of public sector litigation.
In 2013 she opened Kapri Law & Consulting, a private practice based in Washington. As owner and lawyer she transitioned from public service to running her own firm. The office reflects her combined experience in trial and appellate settings and provides a platform for client representation and advisory work in the state.
Kapri is active in professional organizations. She has been a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the American Bar Association since 2008. She joined the Federal Bar Association for the Eastern District of Washington and the Spokane County Bar Association in 2014 and maintains those memberships. Her continuing participation in these groups keeps her connected to developments in federal and state courts.
Throughout her career Kapri has moved between public service and private practice, carrying experience from appellate chambers to the prosecutor's office and then into her own firm. She is licensed to practice in Washington and remains an active member of the state bar. Her current practice concentrates on matters arising under Washington law, including family and criminal matters.
