About Shaan L.

Shaan L. Bryant-Haase combined clinical training and legal study into a professional path that moves between two demanding fields. She began her academic career at Indiana University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994. Nearly a decade later she returned to the same university and received her Juris Doctor in 2003. The two degrees shape how she approaches cases and how colleagues and clients describe her work ethic.

After law school she entered legal practice in Indiana and obtained admission to the Indiana bar. She also secured the federal credentials to appear in the U.S. District Court for the Southern Districts of Indiana and the U.S. District Court for the Northern Districts of Indiana. Those admissions allow her to take cases in both state and federal tribunals across the state.

Her professional résumé lists Garau Germano Hanley & Pennington among her places of practice. At that firm she has worked on litigation that benefits from an understanding of clinical settings as well as courtroom procedure. Her nursing background gives her a different vantage point when reviewing medical records, talking to expert witnesses or preparing a witness for trial. She moves between technical details and legal strategy in ways that reflect both kinds of training.

Bryant-Haase maintains active memberships in several professional organizations. She belongs to the Indianapolis State Bar Associations and the Indiana State Bar Associations. She is also a member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association of Nurse Lawyers. Those affiliations keep her connected to developments in trial practice and in legal issues that affect healthcare professionals.

Colleagues note that the combination of a clinical degree and a law degree informs how she approaches discovery and client interviews. Cases that involve medical facts often require an attorney who can translate clinical language into clear legal issues. Bryant-Haase’s background allows her to see those connections and to frame questions that test medical opinions and documentation.

Outside the courtroom she has participated in the professional networks that bridge nursing and law. Her ongoing memberships suggest she follows both legal and clinical conversations as they intersect. She continues to practice at Garau Germano Hanley & Pennington, handling litigation that draws on both her legal training and her clinical background.
