About Sean L.
Sean L. Robertson studied political science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before going on to earn his J.D. from DePaul College of Law. He arrived in law school with an interest in how rules shape organizations and public life. The coursework at DePaul and earlier studies at Urbana-Champaign provided him a practical grounding in statutory analysis and advocacy.
Robertson began his private practice career as a partner at Robertson Legal Group, LLC in 2004. He spent years building a client base and handling a mix of business and personal legal matters. In 2018 he left to found Gateville Law Office. He opened that firm to pursue a narrower set of services and to run a smaller, client-focused practice.
Outside the office he keeps active in local professional circles. He is a member of the Will County Bar Association and participates in its Small Business Advocacy Council. He also serves as an ambassador for the Joliet Chamber of Commerce. Those roles have kept him visible to small business owners and community groups across the region.
His practice interests have coalesced around asset protection and services for small businesses. He is the principal behind Peace of Mind Asset Protection, LLC, an entity he uses to advise clients on preserving assets and planning for future liabilities. He also handles business organizational matters, contract reviews and routine transactional work for entrepreneurs. Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in approach and attentive to the realities clients face when running a small company.
Robertson is admitted to practice in Illinois and has spent his career working with clients in that jurisdiction. He has not published a large body of academic work, nor are there widely reported trial victories attached to his name in public sources, but he is regularly involved in the local legal community and the chambers of commerce. He divides his time between running Gateville Law Office and operating Peace of Mind Asset Protection, LLC, advising individuals and small-business owners in the region.
