About Sean

Sean Acker built his path to law starting at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in 2006. His undergraduate studies combined business administration with interests in photography and Native American history. He went on to law school at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, earning a J.D. in 2009 after beginning the program in 2006.

He entered practice immediately after law school and took an early role handling bankruptcy matters. In 2009 he served as Managing Bankruptcy Lawyer at The Law Office of Alice Bower. That position placed him in day-to-day bankruptcy practice, where he handled filings, court appearances and assignments typical of a bankruptcy bench and creditor work.

Over time Acker expanded the scope of his work to include contested matters and appellate filings before federal courts. He is admitted to practice in Texas and is authorized to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Those admissions allow him to represent clients in state and federal forums across a range of insolvency-related disputes.

His practice has encompassed both individual and business bankruptcy matters, as well as related litigation for creditors and trustees. He has experience preparing petitions, responding to adversary proceedings and negotiating plans and settlements. Colleagues describe him as methodical in court filings and attentive to procedural detail.

Acker now practices at Acker Warren P.C., where he maintains his bankruptcy and insolvency work alongside other commercial litigation matters. The firm listing under his name reflects the current professional affiliation he uses in practice.

Outside the office he has maintained membership in professional associations relevant to his field. He has continued to appear in bankruptcy dockets and federal filings, keeping active in the jurisdictions where he is admitted. He balances litigation work with advisory assignments for clients facing financial distress.

He represents both debtors and creditors and handles contested bankruptcy issues and related litigation in state and federal courts. His current practice focuses on bankruptcy and insolvency matters, including contested proceedings and representation before appellate tribunals.
