About Scott
Scott Wilsdon built a legal career that began in the study of international affairs and moved steadily into courtroom practice. He graduated from Stanford University in 1982 with a B.A. in International Relations, then earned his J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco in 1988. Those years set the groundwork for a practice that crosses state lines and decades.
After law school he served as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Zilly in the Western District of Washington in 1989. That early exposure to federal court procedures and opinion drafting shaped the way he approaches legal problems. He moved into private practice soon after, joining Culp, Guterson & Grader as an associate in 1991.
Within a few years he shifted from associate to firm founder. In 1995 he became a founding partner of Yarmuth Wilsdon PLLC, a firm that later became Yarmuth LLP. He helped build that practice during the 1990s and early 2000s, steering cases and working with colleagues to expand the firm’s offerings. In 2017 he launched Wilsdon Law as a new vehicle for his work, returning to the role of founding partner and running a smaller, more focused practice.
Wilsdon is licensed to practice in both California and Washington. He maintains active memberships in local and national bar groups, including the King County Bar Association, where his membership dates to 1991, and both the American Bar Association and the Monterey County Bar Association, each listed from 2017 onward. Those memberships reflect a career that has kept one foot in Washington and another in California for many years.
Colleagues and clients see in his résumé a blend of federal experience from the clerkship and long-term practice in private firms. He has handled matters that required courtroom presence, case preparation and coordination among litigators. Over the course of more than three decades he has overseen cases at varying stages and helped guide younger lawyers in practice settings he helped to create.
Today he leads Wilsdon Law and practices across the two states where he is licensed. He represents clients in matters brought in California and Washington and manages the firm’s day-to-day operations while continuing to appear on behalf of clients in court and at settlement proceedings. He concentrates his practice on representing clients in California and Washington.
