About Scott
Scott Williamson graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1993 with a B.A. in political science and earned his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law in 1997. He entered the Georgia bar the same year and has practiced in the state ever since. His academic background gave him a foundation in legal reasoning and public affairs, which he carried into a career spent largely in private practice.
He began his legal career as an associate at Foster & Foster in 1997. Two years later he moved to Swift, Currie, McGhee & Hiers, LLP as an associate and returned there in 2004 after a spell at Gorby Reeves in 2003. Those early years were formative. He spent them learning case preparation, motion practice and the mechanics of courtroom work.
In 2007 Williamson became a partner at Stevens & Williamson. That role expanded his responsibilities beyond individual casework to include firm management and mentoring younger lawyers. Three years later he opened his own firm. In 2010 he founded The Williamson Law Office and has operated it since, taking on the administrative duties of running a small law practice while continuing to represent clients.
Over the course of his career Williamson maintained an active presence in the legal community. He has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1997 and remained active there into the present. He belonged to the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association from 2007 until 2015, and he served in local groups such as the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce from 2012 to 2014 and the North Fulton Bar Association from 2010 to 2014. Those memberships reflect regular engagement with both professional peers and the communities where he has worked.
Colleagues describe Williamson as a lawyer who has handled the routine and the complex aspects of litigation practice. Over more than two decades he has worked on case preparation, settlement negotiation and courtroom representation. He has combined trial experience gathered in earlier positions with the demands of running a small firm in more recent years.
Today he practices through The Williamson Law Office in Georgia. He continues to accept matters that draw on his experience in litigation and courtroom advocacy and manages client work alongside the responsibilities of firm ownership.
