About Scott
Scott Rauscher built a career that moves between the courthouse and the research room. He writes carefully and argues plainly. Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He prefers facts over flourish. His work has taken him into trial dockets and appellate briefs alike.
He earned a B.S. from the University of Illinois in 2002 and a J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School in 2005. Those years at Chicago placed him among peers who emphasized rigorous legal analysis. The academic record provided grounding in litigation strategy and legal writing.
After law school he gained admission to the Illinois bar in 2005. The following year he was admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, expanding the venues where he could appear. Early in his practice he spent time at Sidley Austin LLP, serving as an associate in 2012. That role exposed him to complex civil matters handled by a large national firm.
Rauscher later joined Loevy & Loevy. At Loevy & Loevy he has worked alongside litigators focused on civil litigation. His path through different firm sizes gives him experience in both team-driven matters and in tasks that require individual initiative. He has handled motion practice, discovery disputes, and appellate filings.
His admissions—to the Illinois state bar, the Northern District of Illinois, and the Fifth Circuit—allow him to represent clients in state courts, federal trial courts, and at the appellate level. Those credentials do not map neatly to a single subject area. Instead they reflect readiness to pursue claims and defenses across multiple forums.
